2023 CLASS OFFERED ONE TIME BEGINNING IN AUGUST

Have you ever considered raising meat chickens for your family or just want to learn more about how food gets to your plate?

We have been raising grass pastured broilers meat chickens for about a decade in small batches. Our kids have shown meat chickens at the county and state fair and have placed as high as 3rd place in the state and Grand Champion at our county fair. Beyond ribbons and awards, our customers tell us that our chicken tastes amazing, and that’s the real accolade that means the most to us.

Walk alongside us as our family raises a batch of pastured broilers from start to finish.

Session 1 : Chicks Arrival. Help us unpack and prep the brooder while we talk about welcoming chicks to the farm.

Session 2: Moving to pasture, we will talk about how we raise chickens on rotational grass pasture.

Session 3: Break it down - from your kitchen, you will zoom with our family chef to learn how to break a whole chicken down and best ways to prepare a great chicken meal.

Each class single person registration includes a share of the harvest which will be 2 whole chickens ($150/person). Add a companion and you will get 3 chickens per couple ($175/couple).

This is not an exact lesson on how to raise them, but an experience on the farm. Must be 12 years old or older to participate.

No prior farm experience required. Scheduled meeting times will be determined with participants to find best mutually agreeable time.
